TWO OPTIONS FOR COMPACT YET POWERFUL PERFORMANCE

New Holland’s new TL-A series of premium utility tractors - with four models ranging from 70 to 100 HP - offer levels of comfort, functionality and solid reliability not usually offered in the under 100 HP segment.  These models, along with the new entry-level TDD series economy tractors, compete in the most hotly contested segment of the market and are a product of New Holland’s long-time experience in mixed farming, sugar, hay and dairy applications.

While the TL-A series boasts a major facelift taking on the sleek, modern styling of New Holland’s latest tractors, these changes are not just cosmetic. The sloping engine hood and side-mounted exhaust provide a clear and unobstructed forward view and rounded fenders improve visibility to the sides. Wide angle front lights and roof mounted lights illuminate a wide area, especially useful during night time loader work.

The TL-A series has many of the same features as its big brother, the TS-A, but in a more compact package. The TL-A’s Tier II, 4.5-litre engines, rear axle and final drive design, and four-wheel-drive front axle casting, are already proving themselves out in the field on the TS-A. Furthermore, the TL-A’s 90 HP and 100 HP models almost reach the 5060kg maximum hydraulic lift capacity and 6200kg maximum payload of the entry level TS-A.

New generation engine

The power behind the TL-A comes from New Holland’s new generation engine which boasts higher power output and greater economy. The same engine is used across the four models, in a mix of turbocharged and naturally aspirated units. Torque rise improvements across the range reach up to 37 per cent.

One of the benefits of the TL-A’s improved engine is a longer oil service interval. Even though the series uses standard, rather than synthetic oil, the TL-A now boasts a best-in-class 600 hours between oil changes.

Ample hydraulic capacity

Hydraulic performance has been improved on the TL-A’s with capacity increased to 40 litres per minute on the dedicated steering and lubrication pump. Along with protecting the steering from any loss of effectiveness during the hardest loader work, it means that all the main hydraulic pump’s 60 litres per minute output is available for linkage and external applications.

The TL-A continues to offer the simple and user-friendly Mechanical Draft Control as standard, along with the exclusive Lift-O-Matic that allows implements to be raised or lowered at the push of a button.

Alternatively, the optional Electronic Draft Control (EDC) can be specified on TL80A, TL90A and TL100A models. It features additional functions such as fast dig, in-cab maximum height limit, lowering speed adjustment and automatic Dynamic Ride Control. The EDC system provides an impressive 5060kg of lift capacity at the link ends.

Quiet, comfortable operation

The TL-A series enjoys a range of enhancements to operator comfort. The cab noise level is down to 75.5db(A), while a deluxe air suspended swivel seat, improved air conditioning with an adjustable electronic thermostat, and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel add to an already pleasant work space.

The driver also benefits from improved instrumentation and repositioning of controls. The TL-A boasts a new instrument cluster also taken from the TS-A, with both analogue and digital functions. Clear and simple to read displays right in front of the operator, provide all the information needed. Additional new functions include digital tractor speed, digital PTO speed, digital clock, turn indicators with timed warning buzzer, low level fuel lamp and programmable maintenance intervals.

Flexible transmission and axle options

Every type of working method is covered with transmission options from the ultra convenient 24x24 Dual Command with hydraulic power shuttle reverser and the two speed power shift to the 20x12, available for specific applications such as planting. It is also fitted as standard with a three-speed PTO with ground speed operation.

For extra comfort and convenience the standard Dual Commandä transmission with hydraulic Power ShuttleTM reverser and two-speed powershift, is the natural choice. This 24x24 transmission allows you to change direction without the clutch, simply by moving the electro-hydraulic fingertip control. Whatever the ground speed and whichever gear is selected, direction changes are carried out in a smooth, progressive manner.

Standard specification also includes electro-hydraulic four-wheel drive engagement. Electro-hydraulic diff-lock engagement on the front and rear axles includes 100 per cent locking at the front to optimise traction in difficult conditions.

Compact and versatile

Despite its many enhancements, the TL-A remains compact and light. Weighing in at just 3600kg for the 100 HP, four-wheel-drive model, the range boasts class-leading flexibility. The high power-to-weight ratio means excellent fuel economy for light haulage work or loader duties, but ensures that there is sufficient power to be able to add weights to the tractor for use in heavier cultivation work.

The TL-A is less than 2.50m high (2.446m with 16.9R30 rear tyres, 2.493m with 16.9R34 rear tyres) with a flat floor cab giving easy access to low buildings. It also has a turning circle of 3.95m. These features make TL-A compact and easy to handle anywhere on the farm, in buildings or out in the fields.

Powerful yet economical TDD Series

The TDD series, with five models ranging from 60 to 94 HP, retains its class-leading flat floor cab and combines a comfortable streamlined design with high performance to provide growers a competitively-priced, reliable tractor that doesn’t compromise on functionality.

The TDD series feature latest Tier II emission, four-cylinder engines. They are economical as well as powerful and boast torque back-up ranging from 30-33 per cent depending on the model.  A fuel tank capacity of 92 litres across the range ensures extended use between refuelling.

The TDD series’ main hydraulics have been boosted, with a pump capacity of 52 litres per minute and a best in class lift capacity of up to 3565kg. A 26.5 litres per minute pump is dedicated to steering, and hydraulic power for rear-, side- and front- mounted equipment is provided by up to three rear- and two mid-mounted remote valves.

To ensure flexibility in the TDD series, all models are available in two- or four-wheel drive versions, with or without a cab and in a high clearance version, the TDD HC, for speciality applications. The tractors feature the 20x12 Synchro ShuttleTM plus creep transmission and cab versions can be specified with a 40km/h option.

Both the TL-A and TDD Series can be fitted with New Hollands new range of front end loaders. They are available in standard (Series AP) and heavy duty (Series HP) versions with mechanical self-levelling for safe operation, minimising the risk of rollback. The loaders provide a choice of lift capacities and lift heights.
